Despite how good the garden was doing it was now time to repair the damage caused by the sangliers who had made the garden their home. In the area over 60 wild boar were killed in the period between October 2017 and Easter 2018. Luckily they had only damaged grassed areas and hadn’t excavated any of the flower beds. With the help of some friends who owned a rotavator we were able to repair in record time!

The French love nothing more than a Royal Wedding and so in tribute to the bride and groom we did a quick make over of the summer house!

Early Summer brings out the devil in us both and the garden continues to flourish!

A week in London and came back to a bit of tree damage! Luckily Edward was on his own so he was able to crack on.

The pond inside the barn required a bit of a face lift!

Finally the courtyard was getting some attention…. more plastic membrane and grey gravel!

High Summer and the garden comes into its own… our notoriety is spreading and we have visits from owners of gardens open commercially to the public and professional landscapers.

September sees the artistic and creative juices working again! A new pond in the open barn and some kinetic metal sculptures using old barrel rings.

Believe it or not le Domaine isn’t all about plants! It is also a haven for various forms of wildlife! From escapee ducks from the neighbouring farm, feral cats and kittens, snakes and owls.
