May

July and the drought starts to impact but with clever planting and lots of mulching the garden still seems to cope.

Sometimes Edward even gets a moment to relax in the grass garden… he mustn’t be disturbed for anything less than a telegram!

August brings more sunshine and no rain…. luckily the lake allows us to water tho we try hard not to do too much or else we make a rod for our own backs!

Late August and more sunshine…. the drought has bleached a lot of colour but there are still little flashes of stunning and eye-catching blooms.

The end of another Summer and the hard work has definitely paid off!

September and the longer shadows make the garden a place of reflection.

As the dry Summer continued the new planting behind the open barn managed to cope well. What we thought was going to be the hardest part of the garden to create it seems to have taken on a life of its own.

The grass garden comes into its own.

As the Summer came to an end Edward got a bit arty with found objects! Reusing old barrel rings for garden decoration.
